they suddenly started a cuople of weeks ago and i kept replying stop as they said to opt out send stop. my bill is higher than it usually is (forgotten online passwords makes checking it difficult) so i suspect i have been charged for replying with stop and in any case it isnt working. i remember going to some quango once and getting the money back from these unsolicited messages- about accidents etc but cant find anything about it using google. anyone any advice?

Just ignore them and delete them each day.

Easy to say I know, but its like these landline autodialers, once they know the phone is a valid number, they will keep at it. If you don't reply at all, they can't do anything about it, they will eventually get tired of sending them and will stop. I know, as I've had it happen to me.

In the meantime, let your service provider know of this and the return text number. They can block them from their end. Its such a shame that we can't turn off the text service on our mobiles, like we can on landlines.
