Just had Myers Briggs done today and am keen to dissect my results, as I only had a couple of hours with my colleague to go through it.

My test score was ESFJ, though when I did the self assessment beforehand I was ESTP, and on advice from my colleague I looked closer at the descriptions and various combinations between the two and think I have settled on ESTP as the one that I seem to identify with the most.

The one I had most trouble deciding on was the P v J. I thought I would be a J as I am a bit obsessed with goal setting, and am constantly trying to find some structure to keep me organised, also I am quite a creature of routine when I am at home and a bit of a planner. However when I read the profiles involving J's none of them seemed to describe me, and I have come to the conclusion that I am a natural P, so flexible, a bit of a procrastinator, plunge straight into a task, but because of this I crave structure and organisation to help me manage the world better. I'm the type to by nice diaries and notebooks at the beginning of the year, and then stop using them by February. I make spreadsheets and meal plans and am good for about 2 months then they fall by the way side. I make lists but rarely stick to them, or lose them

Any of this sound familiar to anyone? What do other people score on the test?

No-one? Come on I'm an extrovert - I need to talk about these things!

I came out as an ISTJ! which everyone thinks is nonsense as they say I'm so outgoing and I keep saying it's not about whether or not I speak to people etc!
It proved what my husband has always said about me that I have absolutely no F in me!
I've probably done it 5 times over the last 10 years and the results never change.......

Yeah, it's interesting that the names of the traits aren't what you traditionally think they are. I'm a very clear extrovert, to nobody's surprise, but it's about looking at the whole picture of the traits together.

I'm an ENFP. OP, you sound like a nice balance between P and J - one thing I like about MBTI is that it places your personality traits on a scale. With this in mind I'd say you shouldn't feel the need to define yourself rigidly as either P or J.
