Looking for opions on this ring

Hi,

I have looked at so many now, so I am looking for opions on this ring as I am nearly blinded at this stage....

I never really wanted a ring and I was happy just to get a wedding band. Dp and I discussed the fact that I may regret it so we went looking.

Bump

My opinion? It's an obscene amount of money to spend on a ring - sorry.

3peasinapod · 12/07/2010 21:40

I'm getting discount got them down to 1200, I know what you mean though.

LaDiDaDi · 12/07/2010 21:45

I don't think it's an obsscene amount but tbh I don't particularly like the ring.

3peasinapod · 12/07/2010 21:50

Thank you, I am so confused by all I have seen. Can alway rely on good honest opions here.. What is it you don't like???

I don't think it's too much for a ring, but it's too much for that ring! Too many small diamonds, much nicer to just get one nice diamond imho.
I particularly don't like those fake quad arrangements meant to make it look like one big one, but failing. looks cheap.

3peasinapod · 12/07/2010 22:20

Thank you, I think I am looking at all the wrong rings.

3peasinapod · 12/07/2010 22:27

Small hands and fingers...

They're a really good site, lady told my fiance if i got small hands to not have the cluster rings beacuse it'll look silly but for small hands just small lovely diamonds look great

androbbob · 12/07/2010 22:32

A lot of money for a lot of small diamonds. Why not go for a simple band - nothing wrong with that. I dont wear my engagement ring but have a simple band which has three grooves in it. I have small fingers and most rings looked silly. Save the money for something else!

DrivenToDistraction · 12/07/2010 22:38

I have one almost identical to this www.fields.ie/OnLineStoreStartPage/tabid/138/CategoryID/170/List/0/catpageindex/3/Level/a/ProductID/ 10424/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName%2cProductName. It's beautiful but subtly so and very practical, dare I mention it.

3peasinapod · 12/07/2010 22:39

I think the problem is the quad illusion. I think I'm not 100% sold on them.

OP posts:
confusedmummie · 12/07/2010 22:42

if you look on there site they do have plenty more different shapes sizes etc etc

DrivenToDistraction · 12/07/2010 22:43

The quad thing never looks right to me. It's pretty but a bit much. I bet it's be a PITA to wear all the time, forever. It may well date...

Keep it simple.

Shodan · 12/07/2010 22:43

I agree with PrivetDancer. Not an obscene amount for a ring, but that one's not worth it.

A simple claw set solitaire would be very elegant. I have one and my hands are small with narrow fingers.

Don't get anything too big- anything over one carat would look rather naff on dainty hands.

CarGirl · 12/07/2010 22:45

I got a wedding band that has diamonds all the way around so it's like an eternity ring and wedding band all in one, it's also 2 tone platinum and antique gold. Very practical to wear and an eternity ring all in one!

Perhaps a good solution?

like this, it's a good site for lots of ideas

marriednotdead · 12/07/2010 22:48

It is quite a chunky ring if you have small hands, either a scaled down version or a simpler style may look more in proportion.
I don't agree about the cost being too high in the scheme of things. Many brides spend that on a dress that gets worn for just one day whereas you will be wearing the ring every day for the rest of your life

Littlefish · 12/07/2010 22:48

It just looks overly fussy to me. I have small hands, and just have a very simple gold band with a square cut diamond on it.

moaningminniewhingesagain · 12/07/2010 22:52

I like this

Mine was from there, but its a rubover setting with 3 stones. V good customer service.

DrivenToDistraction · 12/07/2010 22:54

3peasinapod - thinking about it, if I saw it one someone I'd assume it was an engagement ring.

CarGirl - One of the things I like about mine (linked to similar earlier) is that it has that look but clearly isn't an eternity ring . It'd look fab with one next to it

LaDiDaDi · 12/07/2010 22:55

I prefer something plainer.
