Please excuse a self indulgent post about my wonderfull DD

I am so so proud of DD, I could burst!

School sports day today and she won the 3 races she was in - against boys!

But that's not what I am proud of..... One little girl didn't win anything, so DD gave her one of her winners badges because she said it "wasn't fair that xxx didn't have one"

AND

asked her Dad to cheer for xxx 'because no-one came to watch him Dad, and I know you're here'

All the crap I have had about onlies and how they are 'selfish' 'can't share' 'can't lose' etc, etc.

God, I am so proud of her - she's only 5!

She's lovely.

My DH is an only, and he's the nicest person I know. I, on the other hand, grew up with a sister, and I am spoiled, selfish and disagreeable

My son keeps sharing his pudding with his 2 best friends, I wish he wouldn't though, it's a packed lunch so I'm feeding his friends!

Lovely, my DD does the same as your belle, it is bloody annoying as she is a stick insect. We lived in Thailand and went up to Chiang Mai, we were driving through a forest (stupidly) and came across some Karen people with th elong necks. DD gave one little girl her dolly because she only had a stick to play with. Aaaaaah. Heart melting moment.
