Tea room the 5th - welcome to the yurt

Welcome to the tea room. A warm welcome to everyone, whether you have one child, none, or ten. This is a tea-and-muffin or booze-and-sofasorcanapees sanctuary for all. But certain standards of behaviour continue to apply - anyone engaging in fisticuffs will be ejected by George Clooney, ably assisted by Mellors the Gardener.

You have found us- did you like teh slide/ bridge over teh HaHa. Teh priest hole is still available, its just over there.

Mellors and I have erected the yurt, strewn rugs around and good a good fire going in the wood burner. The place is feeling toasty and warm with not a draft to be felt. The kettle is now singing away on the hob. selection of teas for all taste on the shelf along with the hand made by potters mugs. Mellors very ably fitted teh yurt window with a window sill onto which can be placed a selection of pot plants and george.

Can someone sort out RP ( who I think came over with the sofa) and plump up the hay pile for donk.

A Previous incarnation of Tea room may be found here

CMOT, I had to laugh about your tale of the folks taking to the waters in Bourton.

Donk · 02/03/2009 20:37

tea? (said hopefully)

CMOTDibbler · 02/03/2009 20:54

MT - Chinchillas prob not a good idea - cat1 catches rats on a regular basis, so I think she would regard them as a challenge.

JM - for the one morning I'll be on your time zone, I will raise a virtual glass to you ! Booked flights to Toronto today and weirdly thought 'ooh, I'll be in the same country as JM'

Donk - really glad to hear that your Dad is getting some decent sleep.

Tonight we were all owls. Oh, and I was a horse. Who had to eat popcorn out of my trough.

Bolly anyone ? And here are some twiglets for RP and his new ladyfriend

thumbwitch · 02/03/2009 21:24

bolly for me please!

Donk - glad to hear your Dad is on better pain meds and worrying about "normal" things like bushfires (is he really anywhere near them?)

CMOTD - steer clear then of keeping any rodents if you have that type of cat (unless you get a capybara ) - or one of those African great rats they showed on Extraordinary animals - as big as a cat!

UniS · 02/03/2009 21:51

Wooooh - quick blast.

Mistle- Devon- do come please, I may even break my own rules and say fancy meeting up? Not been to Pennywell, but miniature pony centre is similar.

Amber + ? Bourton on the water is in my inlaws neck of the wood, they volunteer at the Christian bookshop/ cafe there. Its an honesty box cafe! Good duck feeding on the green. Have not yet managed to get them to the wild life park ( they are not keen on spending money on days out i think) BUT now they do not have a dog to blame.... I may manage it.

Thumb- is it a good toy shop in Morton in marsh? where exactly....

My birthday treat the other summer was a trip to teh mini pony centre- boy liked the animals and the sit n ride tractors, I got to see my willow structures now they have matured AND eat cream tea. Must go there again now boys big enough to enjoy the play grounds.

I've an idea about why we haven't seen the naked mohawk babies for a day or so. Sitting by me is a Mokawk daddy. he came into my life at teh end of panto as a thank you pressie. he has however been very interested to hear what the off spring of his tribe have been up to and is promising to whip their tiny arses into shape and get then toilet trained and wearing war paint by Wednesday. I think the babies may have gone into hiding from him. Did someone say they saw them headed for teh bishops palace? I'll end their dad after them shall I? he has both a tomahawk AND a throwing hammer, along with fearsum injun war paint and feathers in his hair.

Now do you think RL will calm down a bit please. I've been turning work down ! today.
Jaffa cake over here please donk, and a large soft drink. Ta.

UniS - this is the place (hope the link works, LHS of the High Street as you are going out of M-i-M northwards otherwise) - I think it's a pretty cool toyshop, old-fashioned but with lots of stuff of all types - a few nooks and crannies, good for kids!

mistlethrush · 02/03/2009 22:36

TW - so - somewhere in England probably then!!!! (that's what my links do too!!! )

thumbwitch · 02/03/2009 22:50

oh arse!
I had it all there, even down to the toyshop address itself! tossy map thing.
Ok, if you follow that link and type in moreton-in-marsh toyshop, it goes straight to it!

MellorstheGardener · 02/03/2009 22:58

Eh up, ladies.

thumbwitch · 02/03/2009 23:16

ooh, ta Mellors.
I have a bit of a thing for daffs and narcissi - every year in Spring I make a "pilgrimage" (excuse nicking the word, no offence meant towards religious people) to Hampton Court to see the daffodil fields - I love it! If I can go more than once, I try to because different varieties bloom at different times and I like to see them all.

My favourites are the tiny floribundi, yellow and white, and the pale cream with almost pink trumpets. But I love them all!

mistlethrush · 02/03/2009 23:26

Thanks Mellors! I love daffodils!

Donk · 02/03/2009 23:34

The daffs are right grand! - thanks Mellors.

Jacksmama · 03/03/2009 02:06

Wow - daffs and narcissi - love them!!
Donk, glad your dad got some sleep. Being rested makes such a difference. Still crossing all appendages for histopath results.

Donk · 03/03/2009 08:20

(ThumbWitch - he lives near Melbourne, many friends in affected areas)

amber32002 · 03/03/2009 09:21

Donk, really glad about the pain relief working better for him too.

Mellors, the daffs are lovely

Big pot of tea freshly made, and some newly made toast and butter, anyone?

mistlethrush · 03/03/2009 10:58

I'd love some tea thanks Amber.

Donk - are you getting a bit more sleep now?

nakedmowhawkbaby · 03/03/2009 11:03

WOW! How busy have we been! Come on boys, is Dad still around? GOOD - he's a bit of a tyrant that one!!!

Donk · 03/03/2009 11:04

MT - I have slept much better the last couple of nights, thankyou.

Amber - a cup of tea sound wonderful; then I had better turn the computer off and get on with things

racingMisspiggy · 03/03/2009 11:06

Well, this looks like a comfy sort of bolt hole. What a few days I've had!

OOOOh can I spy pistachio nuts left over from last night. I love a little pistachio nut!

Donk · 03/03/2009 11:06

Good Grief!

The cheek!

racingpiglovestwiglets · 03/03/2009 11:08

Oh, hands of my twiglets newbie!

And I am a boy you know

(when I'm not wrapped up and carried like a baby [sigh])

daisy99divine · 03/03/2009 11:51

Morning!

Donk glad your Dad is doing a bit better and you have been sleeping!

Thanks for the toast and tea Amber

CMOT love hte idea of popcorn eating owls and horses we spent a lot of yesterday riding our Hoover Horses and being Brave Brave Sir Robin

thumbwitch · 03/03/2009 12:09

at brave brave sir robin (bravely ran away)

Glad to see all the small creatures making themselves comfy in the yurt - so long as they stay away from the chocolate that is!

Anyone else for hot chocolate?

CMOTDibbler · 03/03/2009 12:45

Dh wants to teach DS to sing Brave Sir Robin now !

It's getting busy in here between the NMB, RP, RMP and the lovely flowers (Thank You Mellors)

A hot chocolate would be fab. Wet cats have just been in and walked all over my brochure proofs and told me that they were hungry. Again.

Am now totally flight tastic, having booked all my travel till the end of May (at least that that I know about ATM), and decided to use miles to upgrade myself on the north American ones. DH said that I ought to be saving them for us to go somewhere - I pointed out that in nearly 9 years, I haven't been anywhere on miles, and have upgraded my flight to business twice. Wheras he, his friends and his parents have all been on freebie flights

mistlethrush · 03/03/2009 12:53

CMot - I think that you ought to remind him that he is swanning off leaving you with ds and jet lag....
