Play dates, only child

If your child is an only child and of primary school age, how often do they have playdates each week, and how long do they usually last?

I don't have an only child, but one of my son's best friends is (7 yrs old). He doesn't have many playdates during the school week as he has a lot of energy so his mum directs that into various activities. He has something most days, so finding time where he can come over and play is tricky. But when it is holidays or weekends he often sees friends and that might be for a coupe of hours or an afternoon.

I realised you hadn’t had many replies so thought I would pop in! I have an only child (7) - I wouldn’t even say she has a playdate every week! She does clubs 5 x a week so Monday-Friday we pretty much never have play dates, occasional after school park date but rarely. Weekends she has parties, and we have close friends we see who have kids but actually planned play dates with say, school friends, on a weekly occasion? Don’t happen! When we do have play dates (say for example yesterday as it’s the holidays) it really depends, couple of hours? Why do you ask?

I have an only child and have never done weekly playdates. She does a lot of clubs during the week and weekends. She will also play out in the street with friends. We have done a few playdates during the holidays and they have ranged from a couple hours to 11-5 depending on the activity.
