Hey we have 1 8 year old boy with no chance of having others. We have limited family with similar age kids and I often think how sad it must be for him to not have siblings to share Christmas, etc with. Try to suggest things with friends etc but they mostly have siblings, cousins etc. He is happy, has friends etc but it’s always playing on my mind :-(

Don't worry about it. It is what it is. If he has a close school friend whose parents you get along with, make an effort with them. Adult friendships take time. Our son's best friend at that age had three siblings, and his parents (whom we got to know well) were very happy if we had him for sleepovers etc. So my suggestion is to focus your attention on any of his friends who have more than one sibling, and whose parents you like (aligned values are important). Feel free to explain your thoughts to them, that he is an only child and you'd like him to spend more time with his friend. Just don't force it.

It sounds like he is fine with the way things have turned out.
