Weaning a baby off breastfeeding

Hi everyone, my little boy will be turning two next year and I have been exclusively breastfeeding. I just want to know how can I slowly start to wean him off, cause I think we are both ready. Your advice or personal experiences would be widely welcome. :)

My primary advice would be: slowly. Generally people say to do one feed at a time, but I didn’t exactly have a schedule, so instead I started by implementing feeding times (bedtime milk/morning milk/etc.), so I could say that it wasn’t xx time yet and offered a cuddle instead.

If you feed to sleep, I personally would keep that one for a while, so at least you have the easier bedtime while little one is dealing with the change/denial.

Another tactic you can use is to not offer (again aiming for a gradual reduction), so you wait for them to ask. I did this in the end when we were down to just a night/bedtime feed and he’d skip a day or two, then a few more days, then he just stopped asking after a few weeks.

Thank you, for your advice.
Yes, I am still currently giving him his night feeds and I have established a goodnight routine with him at the moment (fingers crossed). I will definitely see how I go with him, thank you again.
