Hey just wanted to know if anyone's child is 2+ and is not talking yet? My son turns 3 in September he know everything, but just isn't communicating. He tries to bless him, but uses gestures. Any advice, should I be worried? I've heard boys can be late. I'm just so confused.

It's not necessarily a sign of anything. But at nearly 3 it certainly could be. Try not to worry. You should speak to your doctor

My 2yr 8 month old still babbles, struggles to put multiple words together, vocab isn’t expanding- understands everything. I have an appointment with the speech and language drop in to start the ball rolling on referrals. I think it’s worrying sorry. Nothing wrong with reaching out to your HV for a referral.

Yep, my son is the same. we have an appointment with speech and language. Deffinetly worrying especially when his cousins are a month apart and they communicate fine. Even though every child is different.

Have you had hearing checked?

Not since he was born, he responds to his name, or an instruction. If I say go put your plate in the sink he will do it. He just can't put words into sentences

I would expect a nearly 3 year old to be using 3-4 ford sentences.

Good that you've got an appointment OP, maybe his hearing needs checking?
