I turn 45 in a few days.
I know I'm at the end of our TTC journey.
IVF was never a option.
I have one DD now 4.
I think I've accepted that she will be my only but still feeling a little sad at what might have been....
I just wonder if there are any other parents out there who were in a similar boat, might be a few years ahead...what positivity you might share ?
Thanks 🙏

I'm not in exactly the same situation but I only have one child and was desperate for another but DH didn't want any more, I was sad for a few years as I really didn't want an only child but my son is 20 now and I'm absolutely fine with it now.

The positives...., he doesn't miss what he's never had and to be honest because he is my only financially it's been a lot easier, I have a few friends who have 2 kids and things like learning to drive etc etc is so expensive and they have this twice!! Silly example but you get the gist. I've also been able to give him more time over the years, and we have a fabulous relationship. Childcare fees were doable with just the one, and generally although initially I always wanted 2 children (and still have the odd moments of resentment towards ex DH, I did make peace with it. Plus, I would never been able to afford to leave him and give my son the life I have given him if I'd had more than one.

You will be fine but right now it's ok not to be ok with only having one child.
