6mo smiling laughing

Hello, can I hear stories that had more serious babies and what they are like now? I am very concerned because my 6mo rarely smiles or laughs. She'll smile at us when we come into the room but never to strangers and is NOT easily amused (just stares when we try to do funny things or will blow raspberries). She does make decently good eye contact. But I'm super concerned. Is 6mo past the point that it could just be "personality"? My friend called her "unapproachable" today, lol..

Everyone said my twins were like this…. I think they got fed up of the attention. They’d smile and laugh for me but gave everyone else ‘death stares’.

They’re perfectly happy children now although still not fans of strangers.

One of the funniest and most charismatic people I know was apparently like this as a baby! Maybe her sense of humour is just extremely advanced

I can't believe your friend called a 6 month old baby unapproachable. Maybe your baby is just a good judge of character?

My twins didn't laugh lots as babies, they were always quite serious characters, very quiet around others. They're 18 now, still serious in their own sort of way (very scientifically minded and thoughtful, always have been) and quiet around those they don't know, but actually have a great sense of humour and are great fun with friends and those they know well.
