I still cannot believe that I am posting this. After having one child and regretting it,goinf back and forth and trying to get pregnant I finally am quite unexpectedly and I am now terrified. There will be a 12 yr age gap between the two. DC has categorically said they like being an only child and DH says its up to me- he would rather not but he will support my decision. We are both in our 40s. This will push back our retirement by 12 yrs atleast. Anyone been in a similar situation?

You were trying to get pregnant but are now unexpectedly pregnant? Confused

Similar but I had two kids already
Ages 19 and 9 when my third (surprise pregnancy) was born.
You adjust accordingly and now I couldn't imagine life without my little whirlwind🤣

Yes, and I had another at 44. Nope I won’t get to retire when planned but we wouldn’t be without them.

Yes meant we were trying for several years and then kind of gave up. Didn’t think it would happen.
@germsandcoffee I am so worried about the health of the baby with the age factor :( also don’t know if I will have energy to handle. Guess getting cold feet

I'm currently 38 weeks with DD2 at 41. We were going to stick at one, then hit 40 and changed our minds, 7 year age gap, hoping it will keep us young lol. We paid for a private NIPT test and thankfully DD1 is excited. Pregnancy wise, I've had more energy this time round,
