Affordable holidaying with attention-hungry child

Can anyone offer any advice please? Our DD is 7 and for the past 2 years we've done the all-inclusive-with-kids-club type holidays and prior to that private villas, but neither has really been ideal. Villa holidays were not much of a rest for us since frankly, its just childcare abroad with less facilities, and the large scale factory nature of kids-club resorts really isn't us (usually too loud and with too many Brits) and often she didn't like the other children or what activities were on offer, preferring to be back with us after half an hour!

Can anyone suggest a geographical destination with safe, affordable babysitters to play with children for a few hours a day? She's the sort of child who prefers adult company to those of other children but we really need a rest and a break for at least a few hours a day too. The added complication is that we don't have a huge budget - really max of £3k for the 3 of us for a week. Any helpful suggestions very gratefully received.

Thank you in advance!
