Hi everyone! Just wondering about my baby's eyes. Have any of you had a baby with this eye color at 8 weeks and how did they turn out? Just really curious if they're going to stay this color or turn lighter/darker
One picture is under the sun light!

They look like they're changing and they'll go dark!
Some babies eyes change really quickly and others don't

Our little boy still has (dark) blue eyes at 19 months even tho me or my partner don't

What colour are yours and your partner's eyes? It's not impossible for your little boy's eyes to stay dark blue!

My little boy had really brown dark eyes when he was first born and I didn't realise they could get lighter, his dad has lovely dark brown eyes and I thought he'd inherited those. But they turned super light. Pictures are at 2 months (just starting to lighten up), 10 months super blue in the sun and now at nearly 4 in natural light

I think I see some brown/gold flecks there in the first photo.

DS1's eyes were similar at that age. His eyes are dark grey with brown/gold flecks around the centre and a dark ring around the iris. A bit like the first photo on this page but darker:

DS1 had Brown eyes quite early on, I think by 2 or 3 months. They haven't changed colour since

DS2 had blue eyes - very dark, almost navy - until 6 or 7 months, when they started to change. He's now an adult and they are Hazel.

I don’t think any of my babies’ eyes changed colour at all! Is this possible? Or am I literally the most nonobservant mum in the world?!

lookingforjobinspiration · 10/03/2022 15:44

They're very similar to my sons eyes when he was born. He now has lovely brown eyes :-)

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 10/03/2022 15:50

My DD had eyes like this and as she got older they got bluer. They were beautiful bright blue. Now she has hazel eyes like mine which sometimes go quite green like mine do but greener if that make sense Grin

DoucheCanoe · 10/03/2022 15:52

@BrutusMcDogface you're not on your own - I just checked photos of mine to make sure but both still have steely grey/blue eyes (I have grey, DH has blue) at 9 and 16.

Can't say I've ever noticed before 😂

TeethingBabyHelp · 10/03/2022 16:02

Thank you @chrlng - I think his eyes are lovely but I'm obviously very biased!

Yeah my eyes are blue, same shade as DS now more or less and all my families are too. My DH and his family are all really dark eyed. Blue gene won out in this case, I'm pregnant with number 2 now so will interesting to see which way it goes! Would to nice to have a brown eyed babe so we have one like me and one like DH

2020firsttimemum · 10/03/2022 16:03

@chrlng my eyes are fairly green and my partners are like a hazel / brown
My partners mum does have blue eyes though so we think they must come from there.
I'll admit I love it though because for some reason I've always wanted a blue eyed baby and never thought I'd have one 🙈

I didn't know until DS was born and everyone was saying "I wonder if they'll change". I was like "come again? Surely they're just his eyeballs now, no?"
chrlng · 10/03/2022 16:18

My eyes are dark brown and my DHs eyes almost black (he's asian so the gene of dark eyes is strong). His parents eyes are also black. My father's eyes are brown and the only one in the family with green eyes is my mother(who took her green eyes from her grandma. Both her parents had dark brown eyes). So I'm convinced my baby's eyes are going to be brown. But so far they are not turning darker 😅

I found this post so late. My boy was born not long after this post. What eyes did they turn out to have?
My baby had very dark grey eyes and slowly lightened to blue.

@lottielooinwonderland my little boy is now nearly 3 with blue eyes still (my old name was feb2020babies) and I had a little girl 15 weeks ago who also has blue eyes. Hers much bluer than my son at this age so I think they'll stay blue! Again neither me or my partner have blue eyes
