She's never happy to see me.. I'm only ever away from her the odd hour a week to attend appointments and im still on maternity leave...

I hear of Babys just wanting their mums but my baby doesn't prefer me over anyone else.. she's excited to see her dad and grandparents but not me, is this normal?

It’s because you’re not away for longer - she barely has a concept of you being a seperate person from her. You’re her anchor to the world.

Enjoy it, my toddler will literally push me out of the way to get to his grandparents Grin

Its cos she trusts you and are her constant. She isn't excited by you because she is attached to you. You are her normal. Her constant.

Basically she takes you for granted. This is a good thing and is a healthy thing. Be comforted by it.

She knows you will return. She feels secure. She wants cuddles and comfort from you when she needs you and is upset not entertainment when she is happy already. Thats a whole different way of showing importance and need.

When she is a bit bigger, who will she run to when she falls over and hurts herself?

Echoing others because she's with you all of the time.
Your all she knows. She doesn't have any time to miss you yet.
