Should my one year old have a constant runny nose?

So my 1 yeard old constantly has a snotty and congested nose. Every morning he has thick yellow snot (sorry!) streaming from his nose. He is like this even without a cold. He started nursery a few months ago and have always just put it down to it being germs and will take a bit for his body to adjust. Could it be an allergy??

Does anyone else’s toddler have this?
Thanks

My boy has pretty much been ill since starting nursery in January, a snotty nose and chesty cough, plus 2 colds and conjunctivitis.

I mentioned it to one of the staff members in his room and she said they all have it, it’s pretty common in this type of setting. He will build up immunity though :)

Ugh, I feel the same. My one year old has a constantly snotty nose. I know from my 6 year old that baby colds seems to last forever...so I think for my one year old is most likely to be a case of one cold not quite ending before another one kicks in. His childminder said he's not the only one and puts it down to them arriving into the world during the pandemic and not experiencing the same exposure to viruses. I'm hoping the summer brings some drier nostrils!

My DD was like that during her whole first year of nursery.

Yeah normal for the first year at nursery.

Thanks for the responses. Seems pretty common then. I too am hoping for drier nostrils this summer!
