Hiya! Taking my DS who's 2.5 years to Butlin's on holiday soon. He's usually in bed promptly for 7pm and is such a good bedtime/sleeper. Most of the shows start at 7.30pm though... Would you stick to normal routine or let them stay up late because on holiday? How was it when you got back from holiday with their sleep routine? Thanks!

@Zaplolly hello, personally we'd probably keep to the usual bedtime (give or take). But maybe give it a try once and see how he goes? I'd probably find that my LO would get overtired and play up, cause she's a good sleeper too to be fair, I'd be afraid of messing it up!
We went on holiday and stayed in a lodge, there were no shows or anything cause it was just before everything reopened! But we stuck to sort of within an hour of her bedtime and she was absolutely fine both on holiday and back at home 😊

When visit family in a hot country we adapt the routine to the siesta lifestyle. The children nap through the hottest part of the day and stay up until 11/12 at night. Once home again we have a couple of days where they might micro nap or have rest time after lunch but usually get back into routine again quickly.

Maybe have just a couple of nights where he stays up later with nights in-between having a normal bedtime?

I slack the routine when on holiday.
He slotted back in fine at home after a couple of days.
