Hi guys

I have One DD who is turning 10months soon and has now started to learn how to stand up. Problem is she is always standing up in her cot and tends to fall down an hurts her herself. I have had a look online and apparently cot bumpers are not a good idea because can cause suffocation and also too much trapped heat etc.

What can be used around the cot to prevent her from bumping her head?? I'm a first time mum so not sure what can or can't be used so any advice would be very much appreciated please.

Does she wear a sleeping bag to sleep?

You can't add any cushioning to the cot without it being a suffocation/strangulation risk.

They eventually just learn not to bash themselves against the cot!

@LouiseTrees yes she wears the baby sleeping bag.

every morning she wakes up and stand in cot and then eventually loses balance and falls over an sometimes hurts her head. I feel so bad not sure what can be done. ?

Sadly INeedNewShoes is right. The only way is to discourage the standing. Perhaps be explaining the link between the standing and the hurt. It won’t fully sink in but if you can get through in time to lay her back down and say silly billy cots are not for standing in. Then lift her from a lying position. It’s a start but she’s so young so it may not work.
