Any help on how to encourage a 1 year old to brush his teeth? His face gets the brunt of it lol

As long as he tries. If he sees you doing it he'll copy. I used to say, "Teeth together, then open wide". How embarrassing is that memory Blush. We can only do our best.

Find a brushing teeth song on YouTube. It's a good distraction. Mine use to like the 'hey duggee' one.

We had a tooth brushing Barney Grin.

My dd was awful for brushing. The only way I would get it done is to swaddle her in a towel and brush them myself. X

One turn with the brush (without toothpaste! for him then you give them a proper going over with paste. At this age it’s just as much about instilling the good habits

Our dentist used to pretend to little ones that she could see tiny animals (like giraffes and monkeys) hiding behind their teeth to get them to open their mouths wide.

We used the same trick at home to get the dcs to open up for tooth brushing, e.g "ooh I think I see a zebra hiding back there, open wide so I can get it with the tooth brush".

Dcs found it a fun game - obv don't do it if yours would be freaked by the thought of animals in their mouth!
