Thinking of trying for our second soon

I'm new here, so hey girls! I've been a member of a few mummy groups on Facebook but due to knowing a few people on the groups I don't like posting on there much anymore, so I have downloaded this app today in hope to seek advice off other mummy's in confidence
Anyway, I have an 18 month old little boy called Arthur and me and my partner have spoken about trying for our second child in the next few months. So I was just wondering when other mummy's started thinking about a second baby and how old their first was when you had the baby, what was it like? How did you find? Etc! Xxx

Hi, welcome to mumsnet
You've posted in one child families, which some people might find insensitive, since you aren't planning to be a one child family, and many one child families aren't so by choice

Also, it's really not the culture to call people mummies on mumsnet. I'm only saying because people may not respond so well to you if you use that kind of language.

I have one child so I can't advise you on when to have another but there are other boards which might be more useful

I had a 10 year gap between mine. Reason being I didn't want another child but when my DD turned 10 I all of a sudden became sad and thought 'now or never'. My DS is now 7 weeks old and my DD loves him to bits. So far there does not seem to be any jealousy either and I think that's due to my DD understanding more than perhaps a younger sibling would (in terms of how much attention a baby needs etc). She's a great helper too Smile I'm not sure how I would have managed with 2 children close in age, it's my idea of a nightmare tbh

Hi there and welcome!!! I also have an 18m child and considering a second. I'd love another - the worry of nursery fees is making us think twice at the moment though. We both work FT but really struggling with the £1k cost per month. If only nursery was cheaper! I worry because I'm 35 and whilst nursery fees would cripple us and may not even be possible if I leave it too long I worry I'll be too old and have problems conceiving

@NotANotMan

What a horrible post.

I find your posts to be more insensitive, and actually OP is a one child family regardless of whether she wants more, due to only having ONE Child.

There are many other boards for people who are unable to have more babies too.
