What do you do?
DS started school in September. I work PT and DH works FT.
I was ill this autumn but now we're through that I have 2 days whilst DS is at school. After the usual household jobs and exercising, what do I do?!
I appreciate it's a very fortunate position to be in.

Housework, decorating, volunteering, hobbies

Sleep, eat and pamper yourself.
I'm glad you've recovered from your illness.

Minniemountain · 14/12/2018 20:21

I'm sorting out volunteering once a week.
I might have to learn a new language.
Thank you jessstan2.

Dc2 started school in September so after 8 years I have 2 child free days.

Tbh, after household jobs and exercise, its usually time to pick them up again! But it's nice not to have to do those things at the weekend or in the evenings.

Don’t fill your days up too much. Sometimes you’ll be quiet, sometimes not!
Just keep some time free for not very much.

I have 2 free days a week.
Day 1 - morning food shop
Day 1 - afternoon hear readers at school
Day 2 - morning gym and exercise
Day 2 - afternoon free usually tidying up, housework, non food shopping, house admin, prepping dinner etc etc

Household jobs
Errands
Watching box sets
Gardening, fence painting
Sitting for hours with my cat on my lap. I love that.
Job hunting online (i have a job, i hate it but the hours are neat and the pay isn't nmw). Part-time jobs are like gold dust so I'm not drowning in offers.

Ill never be able to retire so I'll grab any chance to relax now.

Minniemountain · 15/12/2018 06:04

Maybe I'll read more. DCat will love that. PP are right about not planning too much.

I feel a bit guilty as DH works FT but my hours work for the family and it's not forever.
