So it's my 21st birthday on Thursday.
My dad and stepmum were going to have my DS for the night on Saturday so me and my partner could go to York for the night.
They've come down with a horrific cold so he can't go to them.
I need ideas of what I can do for my birthday including my DS

(Just to be clear I have my son every hour god sends except when I'm working. I don't go out drinking all the time infact I only drink on special occasions hence the going to York)

Can you go for a family meal, do birthday cake at home and then do you trip to York next weekend? I know it's not on your actual birthday, but it's still a nice birthday celebration and you get your time away too xx

I agree. I think that by the time you get to 21, you don't need to celebrate your birthday actually on your birthday. Just postpone the trip until everyone is feeling better.

Unfortunately wouldn't be able to do the trip next weekend as I would be working 😭

Weekend after then?

mammy0f0ne · 18/09/2018 22:13

They've only just started with it today.

I work every weekend I've had to book this weekend off so I don't want this to be a wasted weekend

Ah well then, you didn't say that!

If you can't change your weekend there are loads of places you could go for a nice family day out, but it will very much depend on where you live and how old your DS is.

I know that feeling it happened to me we were due for a night out in Durham for the first time ever since having my son but my dad was ill. We went out for dinner with our son, then came home had a bottle of wine and played some games.... It was nice! I mean being blind drunk and not being woken up at 6am would have been amazing but hey, that's life now 😂. Book some more time off even if it's a months time xx

You could go to York for the day instead of night, York's beautiful! Xx
