new job - shifts all over the place

i was just wondering if any of use knew about this
ive been offered a job but shifts will change on a weekly basis only thing i know is my son will be their for 5 hours once or twice a week mabee more in summer
do nurserys allow this sort of thing or do u need to give them set days and times?

My DD has to be at nursery for a minimum of two full days a week. Another one close by does half days with no minimum per week. I think you would have to give them set days and even if they do half days then I think it would either have to be mornings or afternoons.

A childminder could probably be more flexible, have you considered that instead? Congrats on the new job btw!

no ive never considered a childminder i go to college part time as well so he all ready goes to nursery for 2 n a half days so would have preffered to keep him in same nursery so it wasnt conffusing or anything for him

Hi, I would check with your nursery. I work full time and my partner works shifts so every week my ds is in nursery on different days, anything from one to three days. As long as he is there for a minimum of two half days they don't mind when he is there.

The nursery fees are paid at the beginning of the month and they charge me as if he is there for 2 days a week during the period (as this tends to be the average amount of days my ds is there). Then the following month they will make adjustments to my bill depending on whether he's been in more or less days. The nice thing is that I never have to pay for days that he's not there, like bank holidays.
