Doesn't want to go to nursery - is there a problem?

My 2yr 2 month old has recently started talking in sentences and has started saying she doesn't want to go to nursery when we talk about her going. She's been going there since she was one and a half and I thought she enjoyed it, but now I'm wondering.

I don't know whether she just enjoys home more or is just exercising her will or that she's ready to go to the next age room but they don't have spaces till july (which I'm unhappy about anyway). What if there's a real problem? her keyworker says she seems fine when she's at nursery though.

Generally I really like the nursery.

We ask her why but the why questions seem a bit beyond her still.

Do all 2 year olds do this? Do I need to act on this? what do you do?

are you sure she understands what she is saying?

have you tried asking simple questions like is nursery good?

is it fun?

does she like it?

is her keyworker nice

maybe asking indirect questions might help you piece things together?

My DS never wants to go when I ask him. But I know he loves it. I found he just doesn't want to change what he is doing at that moment. So if I say anything about nursery he thinks he has to go there right then, but he wants to carry on playing, drawing, whatever he is doing. Didn't quite understand!! He's 2 1/2 now and talks about his "friends" by name and what they do

I think she is just at an age where she fears you are having more fun without her and would rather be with you if so. She won't yet grasp that you work or do chores. Unless she is obviosuly unhappy keep a positive spin on nursery and ride it out
