our dd is 18 months old and we need to work more so we are thinking of nursery. How much do they charge in general and from what time to what time? For example, Could we just give her for about three hours a day? or is it better off looking for childminder?

Hi cyphercat, our daughter goes to nursery 2 days a week from 8am-6am, this is £403 monthly so roughly £50 a day. I think you may find it hard for a nursery to take your daughter for 3 hrs but would do full mornings or full afternoons. Waiting lists in se london can be long especially for good ones....so look well in advance! Hope this is of help!

I'm in SE London and DS will be going to the local children's centre and it's £38/day for 8am-6pm. They do half days as well (8am-1pm or 1-6pm) and that's £19/day. The CM DS is going to charges £60/day for 8am-6pm. DS will be going 2 days to nursery and 2 days to CM and I hope it works out!!

Hi Cyphercat, depends where you are I think. In my area (Rotherhithe/Bermondsey) it's around £40-55 a day. The ones near London Bridge are far pricier, between £65 and 85 a day!
