Funding for ante pre school - how can you have more than two sessions in one day?

Hi

My sil has told me that her DD gets more that the allocated two sessions per day funded. She only goes 2 days and gets funded for 5 sessions. I enquired about this before at my DS nursery and they said each session had to have a break in between ie. one in the morning and then one in the afternoon by law. How is this possible to have 3 sessions in one day or is it just nurseries can suit themselves?.

I've never heard of a nursery doing 3 sessions a day
Is it possible she's got confused? Or that she uses a very dodgy nursery who get her to sign the form saying she's using her sessions on days other than those she is but put the money towards the days she does use?

I have always had to pay for the bit in the middle, most will do a lunch club to bridge the gap, ours costs £3.50

I don't know if she signed anything. Just said the nursery had fixed it. I have to pay over and above the funding too which works out at getting half the day free for an all day session. Que sera sera.

One near me does three sessions with 15 mins in between which costs £1 and a lunch session of an hour, so it can be done.

Something like 9-11.30, 12:45-3:15, 3:30-6
