My nursery closes on Thursday - ideas for (economical) presents for staff?

I really don't like the management - they knew for months that they would be closing, and chose to tell us all 2 weeks ago. Well you would if you were then going to lose revenue wouldn't you?

But the staff have looked after my DD well for the last year.

Nothing internetty (too late). Flowers? but how would they share them? Chocolates? Alcohol?

suggestions??

Can you bake? A big cake tomorrow or Wednesday?

I gave the staff at dd's nursery a lavender or hydrangea plant each in a pot. They all loved them, but they are all mature women. Depends on the age I suppose.

This isnt a gift that would cost anything, but it sounds like the staff might be looking for new jobs too - maybe a letter detailing how pleased you have been with the care you daughter has had. I'm sure it would mean a lot more than a material gift, and would be something they could show in a job interview as a sort of reference.

I would go with the cake as ceolas suggests, or tigger's idea of a letter, or both.

I work as a cm and would love either.

apart from the fact that I have had a childminder go awol, another nursery close and now this, so I really feel guilty about DD having to go through this.... I really feel for the staff, who for the most part only found that they were losing their jobs the same day I found I was losing my childcare.
