Hi please can you tell me what kind of entry system your nursery uses we have video camera speaker phones but management want to swap these for fingerprint scanners. The cost is huge but they say most nurseries are using this so what does yours do?

I try not to get myself worked up about the parents holding the door open and to be honest, if I recognise the person, or if they have a child with them, I do it myself.

video phone.

Ours has a video camera/speaker phone on the first door, then a coded key pad into the central hallway. There is then another coded keypad into your childs section.

Wheresthehamster - it doesn't work. That's (partly) why it's a flawed system. The only secure system, I think, is to have a member of staff letting people in.

Door bell. Door opened by staff.

My last nursery the parents buzzed at the front door and staff in rooms would be able to see who was at the front door by video camera and buzz them in.
