We are in different areas so we aren't in competition

& if we don't talk about where our nursery is & how much it is we aren't advertising

We can talk policy & strategy & stuff?

Whatcha think?

Great!

mine is to be a small ten place nursery, hours 7.30am - 6.30pm. Ages 3-5years.

Its going to be attatched to the house I'm buying. rural- but close enpough to town that its easy for drop offs/pick up.

Katymac- I cant find little loos though! Loads in america but nit very environmentally friendly shipping them over!

help?

what do you do at the moment katymac?

KatyMac · 22/01/2008 11:55

I am a childminder & I have 9 under 5's each day

How are you doing the staffing for 10 - 3 & over staffing?

There are little loos here - not sure of the make - but mine has a reference number CX3189

Mine is in a barn & will have 30 children

staffing of children aged 3+ in a nursery is one qualified member to 8 children.

So, 2 staff, 10 children means we will be well under the guidelines.

barn sounds lovely!

mine is a large playroom big enough for 10 (checked out space advice from ofsted) with loo attatched and IT room for them to do some great computer work.

I'm a nursery nurse, working as a full time nanny in london. Been here for 8 years!
Relocating up to the midlands (where me and DH are from) to open a nursery.

Eco sounds cool!

What sort of things are you doing?

KatyMac · 22/01/2008 14:36

Ground source heat pump
Solar panels
Local builders/materials where possible

Allotments
Chickens

Ooops - forgot about over 3's I'm having under threes so 1:4

Chickens- how lovely!

allotments- me too, love growing own veg etc.

Recycling? obvious one I guess.

Have you thought of a name yet?

how about 'the grass is greener' or

'the eco play house?

mine am thinking 'little stars playhouse'

I'm 99% sure on the name.

how much are solar panels?

KatyMac · 22/01/2008 14:55

The name will be a variation on my current name We are childmindging@wc (not saying what wc is)

& we will be nursery@wc

I don't have a separate price for the panels just an enormous one for the whole thing
