best and worst of working in a day nursery?

I considering working full time in a day nursery, so give an idea of the best and worst aspects of working in one.

I am looking forward to the babies and playing with toddlers, but wonder how this will work out after working part time for few years.

long days
horrible bitchy women staff
and some not nice to the children
i found it boring

Long days
Low pay
Not being valued by society
Nappies/toilet training accidents
Trying to do your best while managers make it impossible
Some parents are arseholes/idiots/perves
You catch their diseases
No sick pay
Often holiday restrictions
Paperwork

The children tend to be nice though
Working is a team can be fun
It's varied
It's important

The best is knowing I have made a huge difference in hundreds of children's lives
The worst is nobody else recognising or acknowledging the huge difference in hundred if children's lives

Worst - doing a massively long day then having to clean the nursery, do the loos and then mop the floors (owners too tight to employ cleaners).
And the quality of some staff.

Best: chatting with the children, watching them bloom, appreciation from (most) parents.

Worst: unnecessary paperwork, long hours, rude parents

Spending time with funny lovely little children

The best: interacting with the children, children saying funny things, cuddles, watching their friendships develop, not sitting at a computer all day!

Worst: rude or silly parents, long hours, cleaning, unsupportive management, gossipy colleagues

Best: the children, watching learn and develop, being able to go out or stay in, playing, working in a team with people I like

Worst: rude parents, late parents, being thought of as just a nursery nurse, toilet accidents and applying sun cream!

EVERY nursery is different.

But it's not all about playing, it's hard work and lots of paper work
