I've got a 3 week contract in London - will a nursery (in Putney) take a child for just that time?

I don't really know what to do. Will I be able to find anywhere nice for my son for just a three week period in November? Or is it better for him to be at home in the country with my mother? But without me?

I think it's highly unlikely that a nursery would take him - he would probably end up spending most of the time doing settling in visits.

You might be able to find a temporary nanny who could look after him.

Agree that it's unlikely you'll find a nursery for this. You could check out Third Door nursery in Putney; they offer flexible care, although I don't know if they'd want you to sign up for longer than 3 weeks.

Third door will take him I think

Have you thought about a nanny. A mum who would love some extra money etc?

Greenfizzywater · 21/09/2014 23:29

Very unlikely. An agency will find you a short term nanny but the hourly rate will be higher than for a long term position.

Honestly think you are better off leaving him behind, see him at weekends.

Three weeks isn't long so definitely leave with family if you can. Where will you be living? Must be better if it's just you not you and a child?

Otherwise if you think he'll settle quickly try Third Door in Putney, it's the only flexible nursery of its kind as far as I know. They have done one month packages before to my knowledge. Use one week before your job starts to settle in.
