Suspended following a police investigation!

Around two months ago a member of my child's nursery was suspended following a police investigation.
I was devastated.
I have begged the management to tell me why or what he has / has not done, but they told me that information could not be provided until the investigation is over.
Which although it upset me I understood, Innocent until proven guilty etc.
It has now been too long and I am really struggling, fearing the worse, its making me sick.

I really like the rest of the team, they really are lovely and I don't want to move as my child is settled. But I feel the more time passes without providing any answers the more my trust is fading.
I would be grateful for any comments/advice.

it could be a suspicion of theft? especially as lots of nurseries take cash payments.

It could be an assault on another staff member, or theft from a staff member?

It could be a harassment allegation.

It could be drug related

there are so many possibilities it seems pointless to worry about potential abuse (if this is what you are worried about?) - besides, even if this awful hypothesis is in any way true, the nursery reacted as best they could from the sound of things, and will no doubt have new procedures in place to prevent anything similar happening...

I agree that there are so many things it's more likely to be than any kind of abuse - suspected theft being the most likely.

And if it was related to abuse then that nursery is probably the safest in the country right now as the first thing the police would have done in those circumstances is put all the other workers under the spotlight to see if the problem went further than the one person suspended.

I think it would be reasonable to ask the nursery for a projected timescale for when the investigation will be finished/any legal proceedings concluded, though.
