Milton Keynes Council has announced that it is planning to close at least three council-run day nurseries (and merge or partially close others) as part of its budget cutting measures. Parents are appalled, and some of them face having to give up work as a result. These are good quality nurseries, and the children love them, plus the savings to be made by closing them are not huge. We've been to Council meetings (with banners) and we've started a Facebook page and collected signatures on petitions. What next? Ideas from seasoned campaigners welcome.
