Would any nursery like to share their mobile phone policy with me?

It is a complete knee-jerk reaction.

All the childminders I know carry mobiles, update their facebook statuses, send emails/texts/take personal calls while they are looking after children, and surely a child is potentially more vulnerable with a childminder than in a nursery, yet I don't imagine that you could ever implement a law that said childminders werent able to have mobile phones. And ultimately it's no different to anyone doing the same from work - plenty of people mn from work, for instance, and no-one bats an eyelid.

Ultimately this should be less about what happens due to the fact this is a nursery, and more about the rules you would like to implement as an employer.

So if as an employer you don't want mobiles on the floor then make that rule. no personal calls no texting no internet nomobiles. Plenty of employers do it regardless of the setting.
