Nurseries in London SE19, SE21 (Dulwich / Upper Norwood)

I'm expecting my 1st child in Jan and starting my nursery search early (I understand waiting lists can be 1 year +). I'm most likely to be returning to work end of next year early 2012.

I've a shortlist based on location & Ofstead reports, but wanted to know if anyone has any direct experience at the following nurseries:-

Nelly's, SE21
Little Starz, SE27 (out of our ideal area, but recommended by a few friends, so worth a check)
Dulwich Day Nursery, SE21 (Asquith Court)
Rainbow Smiles, SE21
Clive Hall, SE21 (Montessori)

I love DUCKS, but they close at 4.30pm and we will need care from 8am-6pm, 4 days a week.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Little Starz is excellent My youngest left 15 months ago, and she still wants to keep going back to see the staff. It is a warm and caring environment. And, what I like about it the most is that it is not for profit. Therefore, they can afford older and more experienced staff. Definitely go and have a look, and if you like it put your name down ASAP. I had to wait just over a year to get dd2 in.

Thanks for your reply, My 2 friends really liked Little Starz too, but have since moved area. I'm planning to view all but the Asquith Court nursery on 18th Nov.

Asquith Court, have an open day on Saturday instead, not sure how that gives you an impression of how the nursery runs when there are no kids there!

Hi - our daughter went to th e West Dulwich Asquith court for about six months until we decided to take her out. I still have friends with kids there and their stories make me think that I made the right decision. Send me a PM if you want more details (I don't want to sued for slander!).

Thanks ubwlondon - I think we have ruled Dulwich Asquith Court from our list anyhow, fees are far higher than the other nurseries in the area and I haven't heard great things about them on the grapevine.
