Hello,

My name is Folake and I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Salford conducting a UK-based research on emotional well-being following the end of an intimate relationship.

My study explores the use of the Self-Compassion App to support emotional recovery following a breakup. The app is informed by Compassionate Mind Training (CMT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and* *has been found to help people to:

  • reduce self-criticism, shame, and rumination
  • manage difficult emotions more kindly and effectively
  • improve mood, well-being, and self-esteem
  • reduce symptoms associated with anxiety and low mood
  • increase compassion towards self and others

Participation is open to adults living in the UK, aged 18+, and involves completing online questionnaires and using the Self-Compassion App free of charge over a 28-day period. The study has received ethics approval, participation is entirely voluntary, and all information is treated confidentially.

To participate, please read through the Participant Information Sheet and complete a Consent Form at this link: Participant Information Sheet (PIS) and Consent Form – Fill out form

I have also included a flyer/poster.

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like further clarification about the study.

Thank you.

Folake
