Can NHS staff request a transfer while off sick with stress?

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of requesting a transfer whilst off on sick leave. Currently I am off for 1 month. I am desperately trying to find another job but nothing is coming up.. I have an upcoming occupational health appointment coming up. Could I request a transfer due to stress associated with current role and feeling unable to return to it? It’s basically a toxic work environment, I love the actual job.

What role/band are you ? There is a lot of recruitment freezes etc and lack of places to transfer to possibly?

Band 7, clinical specialist role. I have looked for other jobs to apply for and there is nothing around, even at band 6. So yes, that’s a good indicator there will not be roles to transfer too :(

Is there no way of trying to address some of the issues in the environment? Mediation, freedom to speak up guardian etc.
the pressures are terrible everywhere ime. I’ve worked band 6 and 7 in 2 different trusts and found similar issues. The pressure is impacting on the environment, staff are all very pressured. Personality clashes when people are trying to do too much, doing extra hours, missing breaks etc
