Crying BF baby

My NB is 3 weeks old and until the last couple of days has taken to breast feeding really well.
Last couple of days, at random feeds he is becoming distressed, crying and unlatching but then wanting to go back on and off again.

The only way to console him is by standing and rocking him. In this time he tends to struggle to sleep and is awake for a couple of hours.

Eventually, he will accept latching again and minutes later falls asleep while eating and then is okay.

He will then have a few good feeds before this happens again.

The last couple of days this has been first thing in the morning (7am ish) and early evening (7pm ish)

We keep trying to wind him and he does bring up burps and passes wind a fair bit.

He's putting on weight well, lots of wet and dirty nappies and the health visitor has no concerns.

Any thoughts or anyone else experienced the same and have any suggestions on how to help soothe him?

Thanks

They can do this and it’s so frustrating. Try some white noise. Cuddling and rocking, winding. Boob and more boob :)

This is why the early hours of the evening can be known as the witching hour! It’s tough.
