Hello,

I had cervical cancer last year (early stages I’m all good) but I had to get a few surgeries. One being, my lymph nodes removed. It’s left me with quite severe lymphoedema and chronic nerve pain. Not to mention severe anxiety and stress. I also have adhd. I am however a principal teacher within a primary school but as you can imagine work is getting quite tough and I’ve applied for adult disability payment in the hope I can go part time or take some time off to recover.
Does anyone have any experience with the application? I’ve been told this morning that it is with a case manager and they are reviewing my supporting information and should have an outcome within the coming weeks. Should I get me hopes up that this will be soon? Or does it still take some time. I am just keen to get the ball rolling with potentially reducing my hours. For a bit of context I applied on the 13th of October.

thanks!

I met with a wonderful lady from Scottish government who completed my form for me. This was on 12th September and I got awarded 28th November. Its all going towards my heating bills so it's fabulous to have gotten it. Strangely I didn't get pip and my appeal was knocked back.

Hello lovely lady, just wanted to say that I have incureable leukaemia and I applied and it all went through in 12 weeks, accepted evidence etc. I’m on oral chemo for life as well and the anxiety it causes means life can be tough. You are entitled to this and I would make sure if they don’t give you it you challenge it.
cancer leaves it’s scars emotionally and physically, good luck with your recovery x
