We’ve recently bought a house. After years of renting. It seemed ideal. And, largely, it is. But, the people next door are a bit odd.

he is very, very loud. They have two lovely little boys. Who don’t go to school. Mum is a teacher. She’s great with them. No concerns there.

I have two sons and two step sons. They are all good people and not a bother.

Yesterday, we had a nice day sorting out the garden and listening to the football.

Guy next door was also listening to the football.

All fine.

At about 5pm, the woman next door stared fixedly into my eyes. She looked frightened.

They then all go indoors.

we then get three takeaway deliveries we didn’t order.

Eldest son and husband are each very chilled about this. Eldest says Deliveroo typically just work to a drop pin on a map.

indeed, the delivery people were lovely and not at all cross with me.

I’m being silly worrying about this, aren’t I?

You think the staring neighbour sent the food deliveries to your address?

whirlygaily · 01/05/2022 13:58

I'm not quite clear what you're worried about.

ticktockriojaoclock · 01/05/2022 13:59

What is it you are worrying about?

choosername1234 · 01/05/2022 14:05

Do you think that the woman is in danger and asking for help?

AintNoMoneyHoneyBee · 01/05/2022 14:19

Might have anything to do with football teams ?

PeekAtYou · 01/05/2022 14:21

My Deliveroo is to an address.

I would never accept a takeaway that wasn't mine as I wouldn't want someone to take mine.

How exactly did this happen??

Well yes. And, also, I don’t want weird deliveries. We’ve just moved in. It is all just strange. I suppose I’m hoping for someone to say it’s not my fault. Not seen them at all today.

Eh? Deliveroo mess up loads of times. I've had to put an exact description of our house otherwise they deliver to another house in a different street with the same number as ours.

I've also accidentally stared into someone's eyes while remembering something I've forgotten to do that was important.

I think that’s right. And I am stupidly paranoid. Just felt a bit off x

I didn’t accept it.

Were you in your back garden? How then could the woman next door stared fixedly into eye your eyes??? Don't you have a fence? If you are concerned for her welfare, could you start up a conversation mid week when presumably the partner is working. Seems very odd that she would order wrong deliveries to you- at her own expense- for attention though! Far more likely an error in deliveries/postcodes.

BearLeft · 01/05/2022 18:40

I’m not sure.I think I’m being over cautious. She just looked scared. I was pathetic, honestly and just told my brother. Who told the police. I honestly just hope they’re okay!

We do have a fence. It is a private house and not Wormwood Scrubs. What an offensive and silly comment. We have a wall also. And I’m really short. Just such a bizarre post. And not helpful, thanks.

How tall is your fence?

OP posts:
BearLeft · 01/05/2022 18:46

Our fence is about three foot. I’m 4ft11 and can see over it.

Also, we’ve had to pay an obscene amount of cash to sort out a lot of neglect here. I still really like the house. I was just genuinely concerned about someone’s wellfare.

yourestandingonmyneck · 01/05/2022 21:05

You seem to be having a conversation with yourself there about the height of your fence?

And how was it offensive for the previous poster to ask if you have a fence?

And you told your brother that your neighbour stared into your eyes and then went inside.....and he told the police?

CuriousCatfish · 01/05/2022 21:07

I can't really see a connection between the staring woman and the food deliveries.

ReadyToMoveIt · 01/05/2022 21:10

Your brother has told the police that a woman stared into your eyes and you had 3 wrong deliveries to your house? What did the police say in response?
On the fence thing… ours are about 6ft. I can’t see into my neighbours garden and they can’t see into mine. I thought that was fairly standard and was also confused as to how she could see into your eyes.

Hugasauras · 01/05/2022 21:13

This is a bit bonkers I don't understand what the delivery is to do with any of it. Why would someone order three meals to your address as some sort of cry for help?

whirlygaily · 01/05/2022 21:13

Very little of this makes any sense.

Op, perhaps she was actually looking at you because she was concerned that you were ok.

LadyLothbrook · 01/05/2022 21:26

Are you ok OP? You're coming across a little whacky here.
