A little unsure of where to start as there's a lot of things which are new and quite unexpected.

I have a baby now - she wasn't planned and for the longest time I thought I wouldn't keep her (first I wanted an abortion but chickened out, then I thought she would go for adoption but I fell in love with her).

It was most definitely NOT the optimal time to have a baby as I was recently diagnosed with MS, had just moved back to the UK so am staying with my parents, and my partner is currently in another country!

Also I never thought I'd want a baby... ever Hmm

But these things happen! so I'm here.

I don't know any other mothers, don't know all the shorthand code on this forum, and really don't know much about where to start.

So I guess I just wanted to introduce myself on here and hope it can act as a gateway to getting used to this strange world of motherhood I've found myself in.

Hi... Smile

At the top of the page is a large TALK sign, beside it a round button.

Click on the button to open the menu and go to ACRONYMS. Open that and you will find all the abbreviations explained.

Welcome to Mumsnet! Gin Cake

Hi @kagerou ! I'm new round here too, my partner and I are planning to try to conceive for the first time after Christmas, so I'm hovering on the forums and trying to understand the world of being a mum. It sounds like you've been through an awful lot, well done for being a strong mama by reaching out to connect with others 💕 People on here have been lovely and supportive so far and I'm sure you'll find the same. We're all working it out as we go along. Congratulations on your little girl! How old is she? xx

Thanks for all the welcomes and tips! She is 3 months now and I feel like I've just got used to the idea that she's a permanent feature!

Its a bit overwhelming at times especially as theres still family members who don't even know she exists but she's an amazing baby and i love her to bits.

Thanks for the link @Lostfraggle and hope everything goes great welcoming the new addition @AprilMayAnne
