I Am just 50 and the nurse said I have to now take mini pill not combined because of menopause etc have been taking Cerelle mini pill foR 5 months and have had nonstop bleeding every day On it! And is now becoming a nuisance And I can’t have sex! I called the Nurse and she said either stop taking it and use condoms! Or just keep with it and it may settle which is what I read too From 5-6 months! - Not very helpful. just wondering if the 3 hour window one would be better but guess everyone is different So might ask the nurse again to see if I can try it
As this is the 12 hour one I set an alarm to take at the same time every day even suggested the snip to my other half’s horror! I bet if men had this issue they would find something to sort it! Ok rant over!

Try a different mini pill to see if it helps. My dh did get the snip so I could stop using contraception.

If you’re bleeding like that your issue might be menopausal rather than mini pill related. Have you tried HRT? Look up Newson Health clinic via Google and have a read of it all. Some women with irregular bleeding on the mini pill benefit from having HRT as well - I am in early menopause at 39 and I take the mini pill and oestrogel and utrogestan for HRT. I had clots and bleeding on the combined pill and now with this combo I have no periods or bleeding at all and feel really good.

Also why can’t you have sex when bleeding? You still can. Grin

I am on the same pill and I find that I need to take it bang on the same time every day to stop the bleeding/spotting, if I take it early or late or I miss a pill and remember it the next day the bleeding starts. Do you take it at exactly the same time every day?

Thanks for the info yes I take it the same time every day as I set an alarm. suppose could be menopausal as before I started taking it I was having hot flushes and a couple of night sweats. My DH is squeamish with blood plus it’s messy after!
