Baby Acne?
Bexg16a · 28/04/2020 18:31
Hi All,
New to mumsnet, but can anyone lend any advice on baby acne?
My little boy is 3 weeks old and has what i think is baby acne, but it looks quite angry around his eye... but can’t get any help from doctors because of covid.
Is there anything that I can do to help, remedies? Or is it best to leave and it may heal on its own?
Thank you :)

I was told to leave it. Don't put any creams, soaps or moisturisers near it and that it would clear up on its own.
It cleared up completely after 3 weeks but it did look very angry and sore for 2 of those weeks.
You could try your gp or nurse, maybe they would look at a photo? Or do you have video doc but they might not deal with babies.

Yes best advice is to either leave it, or some say rub a little breastmilk in as it has healing powers. I found though that as it was hormonal (from before birth and from breastmilk) it came and went for several weeks.
Only wet wash with cooled boiled water and cotton wool at this stage if your worried it's flaring up.
