Hi Guys

I 33+5 and so heavy now. I have started to get stretch marks on my stomach and feel really down about them. I know it's seems silly because I am growing my little boy but I guess my hormones are not helping. Ive used bio oil twice a day since the moment I found out I was expecting but still they appear. I go through the motions everyday with it's only a few and they will fade to being really sad about them. Am I going crazy or did any of you struggle too? Thanks xx

I honestly think it all comes down to genetics and your body type but...
Try to keep your water intake up which will increase your skins natural elasticity!
Another option - pop some natural coconut oil of your belly, hips, top half and lower back after you've washed in the shower. Leave it on for a minute or so while you're still in the shower then rinse off. Apply another small amount once you've dried off. I swear by this method & it's much cheaper (and more natural) than all the fad lotions and potions out there.

The coconut oil is a good idea. I hadn't thought of that so I used baby oil. I used the baby oil gel as it's a bit more controllable than the actual oil and I was worried about spilling the oil and slipping on the shower.

Welcome to MN too. Have a look at the MN antenatal clubs. There should be one for the month you are due Smile

I've been told that our skin can be compared to plastic bags - some get stretch marks if you pull them, some don't. It comes down to genetics. But once the marks are there, you can't fix them. Unfortunately.

I found breast milk to be so much better than bio oil. I've used my milk on my stretch marks and they've faded so much in 5 weeks. I used bio oil for months and only since using my milk have I noticed a difference.
