Anyone else’s five year old take an age to fall asleep at night?! Our own fault really as we have allowed this since he was a baby and he now requires us to be there as he falls asleep each night and he’s so bloody cute I can’t bare to leave him buuuut he talks and talks and wriggles and basically takes an hour sometimes more to finally fall asleep, very frustrating 😑

What's your routine at the moment?

Basically just go to bed around seven and read a story and lay there til he eventually goes to sleep, our own fault for allowing it to happen for so long really

Does he have a bath first? My DD has been a nightmare to settle for ages. At that age she had tea, watched night garden, went upstairs then had a bath, stories in bed and then we said good night. She still used to call us multiple times though some nights.

My DN is having some success with her 5 and 3 yo by leaving a guided meditation aimed at children playing. Don't know if you think that might be worth a try? Smile
