Primary School Admission

Hi everyone. New to here and hope someone can help. I'm due to send my application in for my daughter's primary in Januray, however we are looking to move house in March.

The school I want her to get into is close to our current address. I'm worried that after the application process they might reject her place even though the address provided is correct at the time of the initial application

If anyone has any experience of admissions within primary schools, please give some advice. Not sure whether to look into moving or not. Thanks

I’m not sure on this one. Around her you apply from the address you are currently at. I know some schools in other areas will ask for proof of the address you are currently living at nearer the time though.

You are supposed to put the address you are living at. Which is what you will be doing.

A similar thing happened to me (but I was moving closer to the school) and I emailed them.

It didn’t matter in the end as the moving date was delayed.

Here is my email and reply.

Thank you for your e-mail.

Yes, as soon as you move in, I would contact ourselves. There should have also been an option on the application to put a moving date and address. You should also contact your local council and make them aware of your move as well.

Original email:

Good Morning, I have applied for a secondary school place for my child. Can you tell me if I need to inform you of a change of address which takes place after the application deadline but before offer day?

Just be aware, you may lose your place once you move and go down the admission priority list.

I suggest you repost in Primary Education where there are lots of folks who are very knowledgeable about the admissions process.
