Crying/ vomiting

My baby vomits after every feed pretty much. If not straight away a few hours after when changing them for example. I’m breastfeeding and he is 4 weeks. It’s not projectile vomit. He can sometimes be fussy on my boob and his body goes stiff and he cries he will also start scratching his face sometimes or poking his eye. Sometimes he coughs too. Afterwards he gets really upset and I try to calm him but tonight nothing seems to work. His nappies are fine and he’s putting on weight. Any advice please?

It's baby's 4-6 week growth spurt.
Just keep doing what you're doing and bf. I remember those looong nights

Me and my husband have had 2 hours sleep each and baby has only just settled having been crying non stop from about 10 pretty much! Oh it's been painful! The vomiting is stressing me out too because it's so much. Been on ranitidine for a week and it's still just as bad so wondering if he even has reflux.

How much is he Vomiting?
My lo used to vomit so so much (she still does but less so) but I never thought of contacting anyone and she's not on ranitidine although I contacted the bf helpline.

How are things now @jellyggv? Is baby still unsettled? Have a read of My baby is fussy. Is there something wrong?. Breastfeeding your newborn, what to expect in the early weeks is a good article too [simle]

I’d call one of the BFing Helplines today too, if you haven’t already. Have you got the numbers?

Mn have a useful Infant Feeding Section too which you might find useful.

He's a bit more settled now so hopefully it continues! Even the sick has started to subside for the last couple of days. I'm hoping that it was just a phase and we're coming out of it now fingers crossed we did have an epic night of cluster feeding 2 days ago he was feeding every hour on the hour from 5pm until about 3am...
