Just joined, I had thought third was for new mums as a mother of 2daughters 22 & 29, hoping to fit in, looking forward to chats & advice. Have posted regarding a problem I have so hopefully will receive some impartial advice.

Hi, no this is for everyone and anyone! Mostly about family life - but that includes pretty well everything if you think about it. Hope you've found some good advice on your thread. If not many people have posted don't forget it's very early in the morning! You can always draw more people's attention by bumping it.

Bflat63 · 01/12/2018 06:42

Thanks AlpacaLypse. I was hoping for response in a couple of days.
Sorry I don't understand, what do you mean by 'bumping it's?

'Bumping' is when you post on your own thread to bring it back up the Active list. Most users will be looking at that screen, which is the most recently posted on threads. So something started at sparrowfart when no-one but the Australian and NZ users are online, or possibly the expats in Dubai etc, is very likely to slip away un-noticed.

The usual thing to do is click on the thread and write 'bump'.

It's pretty busy here right now, but a fair number of the users will be UK based parents who have posted their children off to bed and are now MNetting recreationally with a glass of wine. What they're really after is a juicy parking thread or similar.

Sorry I've been at work all day, only just got in really, and need to go and make myself something to eat.

Hi, I am a newbie to this site. Mum of two, boy, girl aged 37 & 34. I wanted to join to keep up to date with things for the benefit of grandson aged four and another grandchild due in 3 weeks time by c-section. My thoughts have been a little distracted over this Christmas period.

Hi, Just joined. Sometimes you need to say things and ask questions that you can't address to people in your real life. Thought I might try this place. MS.

Hi everyone 😁 I've only joined. I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with the Mirena coil! I had it in for 9 months and feel horrible so got it taken out on November just gone and since then I've had severe anxiety, depression, mood swings, crying for days and then I got my first period after the coil and it just gets worse. My doctor is sending me to get a full blood count and a hormone levels checked. I just feel awful since I got it out.

Hi all

I am currently receiving maternity allowance £145 a week and £20 child benefit and will have this throughout my mat leave which is until September 2019

My baby daughter is 7 weeks old. Me and my boyfriend live with my parents rent free as we are saving for a mortage deposit.

I worked 20 hrs a week before I went off for maternity and will be doing the same when my leave is over. My boyfriend works 30 hrs.

Can I claim child and working tax credit on top of mat allowance & child benefit? I have made a claim and I am awaiting a decision
