TRIGGER WARNING child abuse and domnestic violence survivor- struggling a wee bit
notavictim36 · 15/11/2018 23:43
Hi, I feel a bit disengenous posting here as I am not so much new, as someone who used to be on here and then left and now joined again.
Seeing a therapist at moment for PTSD and some other issues so should not really be struggling as much as I am and feel a bit guilty about that.
Guess I just need somewhere to escape into and MN seems to be the place for that.

If you’ve found support here before, it sounds like it’s a goid idea to come back

Hi notavictim, I'm also a survivor and living with complex ptsd. I struggle a lot despite being described as an intelligent capable person, it's not as simple as getting counselling- I actually found that, although counselling is so helpful the pain often came to the fore which made it a difficult time, bit like having physio for a broken leg- painful but has to be done to get the strength and function back. Please be kind and patient with yourself, it's not an easy recovery and I'd be very happy to hear you out, not sure I could offer much help but if it helps, you're not alone.

You are brave and wise to find friends online who understand your pain. I'm a psych nurse/mother 8 times/ etc. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. MN is truly a helping state. I lived there and loved how many social services are available. I hope you've started with Health & Human Services. Either way, you are so smart to reach out. I'm proud to be your friend x Patricia aka Trishey :)
