Hi,

I’m new on here but joined hoping someone else has been through this with a positive ending. I’ve just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant, but the implantation is in my c section scar. On the day I found out the doctor was getting me ready for surgery to terminate the pregnancy. I was very upset and in shock and completely went against it. Had a senior consultant come speak to me and after a long discussion dedided as I wasn’t in any great danger I come back after a week for another scan. I just want to know if anyone else has been through this and kept the baby. I’ve been told if I do the chances are il have a hysterectomy due to the bleeding at time of delivery. Has anyone not had a hysterectomy and a successful c section scar pregnancy? So confused and very lost on this matter. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

That must be so upsetting for you. What does your DH think?

He is shook up by this too but doesn’t want to risk my health in anyway and would prefer if I terminate the pregnancy, unless they tell us any different on the next scan tomorrow. As in the baby isn’t attached to your scar but close to it. I’ve been researching on this matter for the past few days and not a lot of information on it as it’s quite rare

I can imagine it is quite rare. I’ve not had experience of this but have had 2 pregnancies ended because if rare conditions in the past.

I know you probably want to keep this baby, but I’d be tempted to listen to the Obstretcian and your DH. Obviously have the next scan and talk to the Doctors again though.

I’m just wondering how you’d feel if for sone reason this PG wasn’t successful later and you ended up having to have a hysterectomy anyway?
